Antariksh: Recording for the second studio album begins

Dan Thomas recording drums for Antariksh's second studio album

Hey folks, hope it’s going great. Just wanted to take some time out and update you on what have we been up to recently. Having taken a vacation in the relatively calmer summer time, we’re back in action with all guns blazing. Founder, guitar player and singer, Mr.Varun Rajput went on a 3 week Euro Trip in June to come back with a lot of inspiration and fresh ideas for new material. While at the same time, bass player, Mr. Sonic Shori had been working on a bunch of cool ideas. Back in action with a fresh outlook, perspective, and a lot of energy, we’ve been composing a lot of new material for our second studio…

Antariksh – Aur: Guitar solo play through by Varun Rajput

Varun Rajput from Antariksh

They say a progressive rock song is never complete without a huge-ass guitar solo – guess what, they aren’t completely wrong. Guitar players and musicians who’ve grown up listening to some mainstream prog-rock music just can’t get enough of long, intricate solo sections. While composing one of the heaviest and possibly the darkest and most intense sounding song on the album, we knew that it totally deserved an epic sounding guitar solo section building up into the heavy chorus. And the way it eventually turned out, it has indeed become one of our favourite solo sections from the entire album. Revisiting the song from our 2013 debut album, ‘Khoj’, our guitar player, Varun Rajput…

Why Hindi Rock? The Nation Wants To Know :P

Screen shot 2013-08-28 at 12.59.41 AM

We’ve been asked this question umpteen number of times by various friends and people who’ve heard our music (thankfully not by Arnab Goswami :P), attended our gigs, and those who’ve been following our music since our early years. Each time this question pops up, it takes us back a few years to the time when we were belting out progressive, heavy western rock/metal tunes with our previous bands – Prestorika, Feedback, Under Siege, and Decibel. The kind of bands we’d cover would include Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Skid Row, Van Halen and the likes. So, very naturally a lot of people were surprised and had questions – how come Hindi…

Antariksh’s debut album, Khoj’s cover artwork explained!

Hindi Rock Song, Aisa Hi Hota Hai - Free Download

How important is an album cover? This was the first question we asked ourselves before we started thinking of ideas for our album cover. The obvious answer was “very”. Although it’s always recommended to not judge a book by its cover, we humans, do have a natural tendency to do so. Especially, when we do not have enough information/opinion on something, we do tend make our choices on the basis of what meets the eye. All of us in the band are firm believers of the fact that there has to be some concept, some logic, or some meaning behind every piece of music we create, lyrics we write, or…

Antariksh – Dheere Dheere Lyrics

We’ve been getting a lot of requests to post the lyrics for our first released single, Dheere Dheere, so we thought, now would be the best time to do this as we get closer to the release of our debut album, ‘Khoj’. We feel absolutely ecstatic about the fact that our audience and fans are wanting to know more about the songs we’ve written. In fact, we’ve been completely humbled by the notes we’ve received from people mentioning that how the lyrics of the song resonate with the stories of their lives. It means a lot to us to know that we have been able to transcend the emotion of…
